Jay Barrett Athletic Foundation

Mission Statement

The mission of the Jay Barrett Athletic Foundation is to provide resources for amateur athletes throughout Vigo county to pursue individual or team goals. Another mission of this foundation is to provide grants, scholarships, and donations to charitable organizations throughout the Wabash Valley.

Jay Barrett Memorial Scholarhsip

This is a scholarship given out every year to a West Vigo High School senior wishing to play football at the collegiate level. Criteria for this award are: student-athlete must display a strong work-ethic and great character, must be going to college and play football, and cannot be receiving full academic or athletic grants.

Foundation Goals

1.	To raise funds to allow a greater distribution of scholarsips, grants, and donations. Would like to give JBM Scholarship at all three Vigo County schools.
2.	To promote athletics as an alternative to drugs, violence, and gangs.
3.	To provide amateur athletes in Vigo County who compete nationally the opportunity to so with help financially.
4.	To provide a yearly donation or scholarship to the Indiana State Football team in memory of Jay Barrett who was a team captain and fullback for the Sycamores.
